Have you said yes to the dress?
Yes… actually I said yes twice!
Was it what you expected your dream dress to look like? Or did you find a dress in a style you never thought would be ‘the one’
My dream dress has always been a very figure-hugging sort of Hollywood glam type dress. My first dress that I said yes too was exactly this, but after finding out that I was expecting a little one a few months before the wedding, I decided to go on something that would allow me a little more wiggle room after our little bundle arrives. My new dress, is completely different and more of a flowy Grecian style but also still very me and a little different.
How many shops did you visit before finding the one and how many dresses did you try on?
I would say around 4 shops and I tried on around 20 dresses in total. Top tip head to the National Wedding Shows, you tend to find that a lot of bridal stores will give you anything up to 20% discount of any of their instore dresses, if you leave a small deposit on a dress. I found an amazing shop and loved the range of dresses they had on display, so I knew that I would be able to find a perfect dress from them whilst also grabbing 20% discount.
Without giving away too much detail on the dress you have chosen, were there any designers who’s dresses you particularly liked in your search for the dream dress
I had so many designers that I loved for example Adriana Papell, Naama and Anat, Berta and lots more!
My first dress was by Enzoani, and my new dress is a stunner from Ronald Joyce (Not a designer i was expecting to love, but the dresses on are incredible!)
Any additional details you wish to add/advice you’d give to future brides…
Once again don’t order your dress to early as you will change your mind. Find a store that will allow you to start paying off your dress and then make your final decision around 6 months prior to your wedding when you need to be measured.
